About me:I'm Mrs. Melitski, and I'm happy to have you in my class this year. This is my 7th year teaching in Red Hook. I am certified not only in Technology Education from K-12, but also in English (ELA) in grades 5-12. This means that while I love teaching and exploring all things STEM and engineering, I also expect my students to read and write on a regular basis, and present their ideas and projects. :)
Technology, how things work, solving problems, thinking critically, asking questions, working on projects, being creative, trying new things and making mistakes... These are all aspects of our class in Technology Education and it is truly a joy to teach! I'm constantly learning new things from my students! It is a rewarding experience for all. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy being outside, camping, swimming, reading, cooking, volunteering in the community, and spending time with my family. I also am an assistant coach with the Red Hook varsity boys swim team. My husband and I have two boys - one is a junior at Syracuse University (Go Orange!), and the other is in his first year at the University of Pennsylvania (Go Quakers!). I also enjoy spending time with my furbabies - Holly, my Shih-Tzu, and Athena, my orange tiger cat. Wishing you an amazing 2023-24 school year! ~Mrs. Melitski |
